Josephine Markham

Josephine was inspired at an early age to learn the piano by a shared love of classical music with her mother. After studying piano and clarinet to grade 8 whilst at school, Josephine graduated with a degree in music from the Anglia Ruskin University Cambridge and undertook a post graduate course at Trinity College of Music, London where she won numerous accompaniment prizes and competitions.
Following this Josephine gained an ARCM piano teaching qualification from the Royal College of Music London, and achieved grade 8 Saxophone.
In her professional career Josephine taught clarinet and worked as accompanist for the Leicestershire Schools of Music Junior and Youth choirs. She also played for broadcasts on BBC Radio Kent, BBC Radio Leicester, Heart FM and with famous soloists including David Campbell. Josephine was the piano accompanist at the Lancaster Academy Leicester on Gareth Malone’s BBC TV series ‘Boys Don’t Sing’.
Other professional work includes freelance teaching of piano, clarinet and saxophone to pupils of all ages around Leicestershire and as professional accompanist for concerts, choirs, events, student exams and all types of instrumental and vocal genres.
